Kristy was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She spent much of her childhood and teenage years reading a broad range of genres, which included sci-fi/fantasy, King Arthur and Jane Austen. She also attempted to write her own stories. In college, she earned two engineering degrees, but her heart was always in writing. She attempted her first novel-length manuscript while staying home to care for her four young children and that book, The Wren, was published in 2003. A second book, The Dove, soon followed. After taking a hiatus from writing to spend more time with her family, she is currently working on the third book in the series, The Sparrow.After living in western Pennsylvania for almost 20 years, Kristy recently moved back to Arizona.
